Dr James Worrall is Senior Lecturer in International Relations and Middle East Studies in the School of Politics & International Studies, University of Leeds.

Research Interests

Dr Worrall’s research interests lie in the fields of Security Studies and International Relations and include: Western relations with the Arab World, Gulf Politics and Security, Regional International Organisations, Decolonisation, Counterinsurgency Strategy, Security Sector Reform: particulalrly Policing, Regime Stability and Legitimacy in non-democratic states and Diplomatic theory and practice.

He also has an interest in sub-state conflict and is currently reviews editor for the academic journal Civil Wars.
